Microwave Oven Safety Standards
In the U.S., check with The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), while
in Canada, check with Health Canada for microwave oven safety
standards with regard to leakage requirements. The FDA's last update
in 2017 limits the amount of microwave leakage to 5 milliwatts (mW) of
microwave radiation per square centimeter at approximately 2 inches
from the oven surface. This limit is far below the level known to harm
people. Microwave energy also decreases dramatically as you move
away from the source of radiation. Be sure to be up to date in regards
to the current standards and regulations for the appropriate country
before using this device. REED Instruments will not be held
responsible for any damage to the equipment or personal injury in
regards to the use of this meter or in the correct interpretation of the
appropriate safety standards. The user assumes full safety
responsibility at all times.
Battery Replacement
When the low battery icon appears on the LCD display, you will need to
replace the batteries. Remove the battery cover using a Phillips head
screwdriver, insert a new 9V battery and secure the cover.
