Maintenance
Before cleaning the unit, disconnect it from the computer.
Never use any abrasive or harsh cleaning agents (e.g. alcohol,
petrol or thinners) as these could cause damage to the casing.
Always use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or a
mild cleaning solution.
Never drop a hard disc. Never subject a hard disc to any
impact or knocks, especially when the disc is connected and
running. The arm of the read/write head can scratch the
surface of the rotating discs and cause data loss or a mal-
function, resulting in the total loss of the saved files.
If you are using the external hard disc intensively, lay the
housing on the table so that the heat on the surface of the
aluminium housing can dispense. Overheating can cause
malfunction or destroy the hard disc.
