3D LUT ALGORITHMS

The camera processes 3D LUTs using the following logic:

 

If the input RGB triplets do not coincide with a knee point in the 3D LUT, the camera uses tetrahedral 

interpolation to estimate RGB output triplets. 

 

The camera performs all 3D LUT mathematical operations with 16-bit precision.

These algorithms ensure accuracy, but that accuracy may cause the results to be different than the results from 

other programs applying identical 3D LUTs. RED

®

 recommends reviewing the output to ensure that the results 

match the needs of your project.
