REA VERIFIER
Windows operating systems. An Apple Macintosh computer needs Parallel Desktop or a similar
Windows emulation.
The description of the REA TransWin32 program is limited to the bare essentials in this
documentation. REA TransWin32 is described in detail in the REA TransWin32 operating manual
(on the included CD-ROM).
In addition, the PC system to be used should meet the following system requirements.
Hardware requirements

Standard PC with the minimum requirements recommended by Microsoft for the operation of
Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 (preferably 64-bit version; 32-bit version works but is uncommon).

1 RJ45 Ethernet interface socket; 2 are recommended in the event that the REA verifier is not to
be operated on the company network

1 colour monitor with a minimum size of 19" (>= 1280 x 1024 pixels); recommended: 22" FullHD

1 PC mouse with at least 2 mouse buttons and scroll wheel
Requirements for the operating system

Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 (recommended is the 64-bit version, 32-bit is uncommon)

Microsoft .NET Framework, version 4 or higher

Windows 7 must be operated at least with Service Pack 1
Administrator rights are required
Administrator rights are required for the installation of the software and the configuration on
the PC. If the user account does not have administrator rights, the installation aborts.
In this case, the installation must be carried out by the IT administration.
RECOMMENDATION: In order to avoid problems due to access rights, IT Admin
should only install the TransWin32 application and not start it. The user without
administrator rights should start the software.
In normal operation, after installation, administrator rights are no longer required.
Software installation on the PC
If the REA TransWin32 software is already installed and in use for the operation of other REA bar
code verifiers, the REA ScanCheck 3n can be connected and used immediately provided that the
software versions are compatible and a functional network connection between the REA
ScanCheck 3n and the PC is in place.
Licence key
The licence key is stored in the ScanCheck 3n in the factory if the TransWin32 option is ordered. If
this is ordered retrospectively, it is necessary to activate the TransWin32 option with a licence key,
which you can request from us.
No further licence keys are required for the installation of TransWin32.
There is a possibility to activate optional software with additional licence keys at a later time (e.g.
“optional symbologies” or the “article database”).
