Connecting Network and Power Cords

All cabling, power connections, and cooling vents are located on the QuikStation 4 
rear panel.

1.

Connect RDX QuikStation 4 Ethernet network ports to network ports on a switch 
or router.

Note:

Two network ports are recommended for failover protection and 
maximum performance. (See 

page 43

 for more information about port 

configuration options.)

2.

Connect the appropriate power cord to the QuikStation 4, and plug the power cord 
into a UPS appliance or a properly grounded AC power source.

3.

Connect a VGA/Display monitor to determine whether the IP address for the RDX 
QuikStation 4 is assigned or use a USB stick after the unit is initialized to save the 
current network information to a text file (see 

page 10

).

4.

Turn the power on by pressing the power button on the front of the unit.

Note:

If the unit does not power up, check that the power switch on the rear of the 
unit is set to on.

5.

Verify that an IP address is displayed on the attached VGA monitor or use a USB 
stick after the unit is initialized to save the current network information to a text 
file (see 

page 10

). If not, you must manually configure the IP address for the RDX 

QuikStation 4. See 

“Assigning a Static IP Address” on page 11

.
