SCS 4000/5000 Series™ Installation & Operation Manual
Rate Cal
The target application rate in lbs/acre [kg/ha] is programmed by pressing RATE CAL. Consult the equipment
manual to ensure that the selected gate opening is capable of applying at this application rate.
Note:
The spreader constant must be recalculated anytime the gate opening is changed.
Spinner RPM
When using a CAN control node capable of controlling spinner speed, set up the product in SPINNER RPM
CONTROL mode and use the following calibration values:
•
METER CAL = the number of pulses (bolt heads) per revolution of the spinner multiplied by 10.
•
SPREADER CONSTANT = 0
•
RATE CAL = Target RPM
See the Boom Select feature in the
section on page 39 and configure boom selections
accordingly.
Additional Calibration Data
Although it is not required for the SCS console operation, data may be programmed through the VOLUME/
TANK key.
Entering Tank Volume
Press VOLUME/TANK and use the Edit mode to enter an estimated volume of product in the tank or bin. This
setting must be reset each time the tank or bin is refilled.
Low Tank Alarm
The SCS console may be set to sound an alarm when the calculated volume of product remaining in the tank
falls to a user defined level. To setup the Low Tank Alarm, refer to the
“Zero Out” Display Information
The Total Area, Total Volume, Field Area, Field Volume, and Distance screens display current or as applied
information that can be reset at any time. To “zero out” these values in the SCS console, use the Edit mode to
enter a zero value into any one of these display values.
