4.9.4.2 Sensor alarms
Sensor alarms are alarms of medium priority.
The following alarms have been classified as sensor alarms:
1. ECG cable disconnected
2. Pressure sensors have been removed
3. Temperature sensor has been removed
The sensor alarms are indicated by the term “Sensor?” flashing in the display field of the measuring channel
concerned.
If a sensor has been removed, no value will be displayed any more as soon as the alarm has been
acknowledged (with Info -> OK -> OK).
Exceptions are provided by the sensor alarms 5 and 6. These sensor alarms remain even after pressing
the info key.
4.9.5 limitations
No alarm is generated from the ECG signal, either directly (insufficient electrode contact, asystole detection
etc.) or indirectly (determination of heart rate, limit values). It is only checked whether the cable is
connected. This is necessary for automatic channel detection (see also data acquisition).
4.9.6 Summarisation
The following diagram clarifies the dependencies between alarm causes, alarm signals and muting / reset
for the active alarm conditions (short keypress) as well as for global muting / reset and global suppression
(long keypress).
