Power requirements:
240v AC 165 watt.
Heating element:
High efficiency cartridge
Temperature control:
Phase controller using custom
programmed microcontroller
Temperature range:
A 5°c to 110°c minimum 28°c
Temperature stability:
0.1°c
Capacity:
1 standard Ratek test tube block
95 x 75 x 50mm
Safety:
Over temperature cutout switch
operates independently of the control
circuit.
Case details:
Block and surround anodized
aluminium. Case powder coated zinc
seal.
Temperature control and stability figures assume that Ratek
machined blocks are used.
Place the test tube block into the heater, it is important to use
blocks that have been machined flat to ensure good thermal
contact with the heating plate.
Connect the power cord to a properly grounded 3-pin
outlet.
Switch the heater on and set the required temperature. Allow
approximately 20 minutes for the unit to stabilize
Place a reference thermometer into the 7mm hole in the block to
check the actual temperature.
Adjust the temperature control knob, if necessary, to achieve the
desired temperature setting.
A small amount of water or suitable oil in the tube/thermometer holes
will ensure good thermal contact
Never put water or oil into the heating chamber.
MAINTENANCE
Regular cleaning is the only maintenance required.
SERVICE
Should the unit fail to operate correctly, any service work should be
carried out by a qualified technician.
Unauthorised tampering will invalidate the manufacturer’s guarantee.
