Sample, Calibration, and Verification Traps

IMPORTANT:Always wear clean cotton gloves (supplied with the device) when handling sample, calibration, or veri-

fication traps. Gloves reduce the transfer of finger oils and other contaminants.

The sample traps have a hole at the handle end of the sample trap and the tapered end (sampling area) is swiped
over the item being sampled and is inserted into the desorber for analysis. The sample traps are also used during
the clearing process.

The calibration traps are used for calibrating the device and are marked with a

C at the handle end of the

calibration trap. Similarly the verification traps are used for verifying the calibration and are marked with a

V at the

handle end of the verification trap. The tapered ends are inserted into the desorber for analysis.

Handle sample, calibration, and verification traps with clean cotton gloves and by the wide or handle end only.
