3. Remove and discard your gloves.
4. Decontaminate the work area.
5. Obtain new cotton gloves and a new sample trap to continue sampling.
Performing Additional Clearing Steps
Certain substances may take longer to clear or need additional steps to clear the device, depending on the
concentration level of the substance. If so, a message displays the substance needs a burn off.
1. Press OK.
2. Press Clear.
The
Device Burn screen displays, and one of the following occurs:
•
The device heats up, burns for 45 minutes, and then cools down.
•
The device heats up, then immediately starts cooling down.
3. Wearing clean cotton gloves, remove a sample trap from the package, or use an existing clean sample
trap that has not exceeded its sampling events.
4. If you obtained a sample trap from the package, close the cover immediately to avoid contamination.
5. Insert a sample trap into the desorber.
6. Press Trig, the green button on the navigation pad, or the green button on the device handle.
The
No Alarm - Ready message displays.
7. Remove the sample trap from the desorber.
Selecting View Modes
The ITMS™ software provides five views for displaying data in either the positive or negative detection modes:
Peaks, Plasmagram, Select Scan, Intensity Map, and 3-D.
To change the
View mode, press View, and select the mode.
NOTE:
In the
Plasmagram
,
Intensity Map
, and
3-D
views, you can scroll through the plasmagram using
the arrows on the navigation pad.
