Cleaning the Material Reservoir
CAUTION!
Risk of injury due to sharp objects!
The knife on the separation unit has a sharp edge that
can cause slight hand injuries through direct contact.
–
The edge should never be touched directly.
Only hold the knife by the knurled nuts and with
the blade away from your body.
NOTE!
Wearing protective gloves protects the skin from contact
with skin damaging materials. During work steps in
which you work with printing materials or cleaning
agents, we always recommend wearing protective
gloves.
NOTE!
Never use hard and pointed objects. These can cause
damage to the silicone surface at the bottom of the
reservoir.
The material reservoir is a wearing part and must be
replaced in case of damage to the silicone surface, e.g.
in case of blistering, scratches and clouding.
Always grasp the material reservoir with the side
handles provided for this purpose to avoid fingerprints
on the glass bottom.
The material reservoir is an essential printing accessory. Incorrect
handling and the failure to provide the prescribed care can have a
negative impact on the print quality of your print jobs. To prevent faulty
jobs caused by a dirty material reservoir, the glass bottom (outside) and
the reservoir bottom (inside) must be clean and free of fingerprints and
other residues.
Required Accessories
Safety gloves, microfibre cloth, isopropanol, glass cleaner, precision
strainer (fine, 190 my), material bottle, silicone spatula (alternatively
paper cards), collecting container
Preparation
Proceed as follows to prepare for cleaning the material reservoir:
1.
Wear protective gloves on your hands.
2.
If a material reservoir is inserted in the machine: First make sure
that the collection basket, the build platform, the knife drip
guard, and the knife are cleaned. If liquid material is found
adhering to the components, remove them first from the
machine before removing the material reservoir.
3.
Pull the reservoir out of the machine. To do so, press the
reservoir down slightly and then pull it out of the machine.
