Opening & Closing the Machine
7.4.1
Opening & Closing the Machine with the Foot Sensor

The machine is equipped an automatic opening mechanism for the top
protective hood. This is controlled over a foot sensor on the underside
of the machine. The function is enabled as standard on the machine.
Proceed as follows to open/close the upper hood with the foot sensor:
1.
Trigger the foot sensor by moving your foot on the underside of
the machine. Make sure that you position your foot within
approx. 8 cm of the foot sensor and that the triggering
movement (foot forward - foot back) takes place inside of 2
seconds so that the sensor detects the movement. (see fig. on
the left)

If the hood is closed, it will move upwards until it is in its
upper end position.
–
If the hood is open, it will move downwards until it is
closed flush with the housing.

The top protective hood on the machine can be opened and closed
manually. The additional
“
Hood Assistant
”
function facilitates the
assisted opening and closing of the hood: As soon as the hood is
moved manually from an end position (down/up), it then continues
moving automatically and ends the opening/closing process by itself.
The
“
Hood Assistant
”
function needs to be activated.
Proceed as follows to enable this function:

2.
Locate the button
«
Enable hood assistant
»
in the centre of the
display.
The button lights up red when the function is disabled.
3.
Press the button next to the description to enable the function.
The button lights up green when the function is enabled.
4.
Press the
«
Save
»
button on the right-hand side of the display to
save the setting.
5.
Return to the main menu.
If the “Hood Assistant” function is disabled, manually
opening the upper hood takes place without any
technical assistance.
