12.6 WINDROWING___________________________________________________
NOTE:
Arrow indicates direction of travel.
“Windrowing” is an increase of cut grass arranged in
rows in the discharge area of the cutting units , this
appears as cut grass in the direction
of travel.
Possible Cause Remedy
The Height of grass is being reduced by too much in
one pass .
Mow more often or raise the height of cut.
Try high lift blades.
Grass build up on rollers Clean rollers and scrapers, check scraper wires are
taught.
Mowing while grass is very wet . Mow when grass conditions improve.
Grass collecting on mower Clear cuttings and adjust deflectors.
Foreign objects or grass build up trapped in cutting
means enclosure or discharge chute.
Clear unit and discharge area.
