various channel settings
ia5<NL>
Channel 5 of an input switcher at address 0 is switched to
busbar
A
.
ib6<NL>
Channel 6 of an input switcher at address 0 is switched to
busbar
B
.
oa122<NL>
Channel 2 of an output switcher at address 15 is switched to
busbar
A
.
ob128<NL>
Channel 8 of an output switcher at address 15 is switched to
busbar
B
.
If a channel setting command is sent to any switcher, the channel that was previously
active is automatically opened. All R&S UPZ receive the command simultaneously and
the addressed one executes the setting command. All other R&S UPZ either ignore it
(when their channels are inactive) or open a previously selected channel. Thus, only 1-
out-of-n channel selection is possible (except for the output switcher, see example 4).
Example 4:
oa19 ... ob-1
Output-
Switcher mit „-1“
Channel 3 of a R&S UPZ at address 2 is switched to busbar A. Busbar B has
connected all channels, except channel 3 (= 19 on counting the possible channels from
0 to 128).
4.3 Special Channel Settings
The following special features have to be taken into account when setting the channels
directly from the PC via RS-232-C:
●
Channel No. 0 opens all channels of the busbar used on all connected switchers.
●
There is no explicit tracking command. The calculation and automatic adaptation of
the other channels with tracking switched on (control via the R&S UPL) is
implemented in the R&S UPL and must be simulated by the program for direct
control via a PC.
●
If the same channel is selected for the two busbars via the RS-232-C interface
directly from a PC program, the R&S UPZ blocks this setting in order to avoid
shorts of two generators (output switcher used) or double loading of the connected
generator (input switcher used).
The command sent last is always executed, which means that the selected
channel is connected to the selected busbar. If this channel was previously
connected to the other busbar, this connection is undone.
