Connection
To prevent damage to the monitor and R&S UPV, the instrument must be switched off
before an external monitor is connected. After connection, the external monitor is
detected when the instrument is started (but not if it is connected while the instrument
is in operation). The screen contents with all elements, e.g. panels, measurement dis-
plays, softkey bar, etc., appear on the external monitor. No further settings are needed.
2.8.1 Changing Screen Resolution of External Monitor under Win-
dows XP
The R&S UPV audio analyzer is equipped with an internal computer. Up to February
2007, the instruments were supplied with a computer bearing the internal
Rohde & Schwarz designation FMR6, from March 2007 with FMR7, from March 2012
with FMR9 and from February 2015 with FMR11 (see also
Computer Hardware Information and Windows Operating System"
ments with FMR11 support Windows 7 only; see the next chapter. The procedure for
setting the screen resolution when using an external monitor is different for the three
computer models. The procedure for each is described separately below.
Devices with FMR6
Setting external monitor resolution to higher than 800 x 600 pixels
1. Switch off R&S UPV.
2. Connect the external monitor, keyboard and mouse.
3. Switch on R&S UPV.
4. After starting the R&S UPV, exit or minimize the UPV program by clicking on the
buttons on the right in the title bar.
5. Right-click on the desktop to open the following context menu.
