2 Operation
2.1 Functional test in accordance with CISPR 16-1-2
The R&S ENY-FTS in connection with a network analyzer allows the functional testing
of the impedance stabilization networks (ISN) R&S ENY21, R&S ENY41, R&S ENY81
and R&S ENY81-CA6. This functional testing includes the verification of the
asymmetrical impedance and phase, voltage division factor, longitudinal conversion
loss and decoupling attenuation.
Requirements and examples for the measurement of the parameters of an ISN are
defined in Annex E of the basic standard CISPR 16-1-2. The ITU-T recommendations
G.117 and O.9 are offering further background information for measurements on
symmetrical telecommunication lines. For this purpose the R&S ENY-FTS contains a
LCL balance measuring bridge with a balanced output of 100
C (1 mm banana socket)
and various adapters for the reference calibration of the bridge and the connection of
the measuring bridge to the ISN.
