Switching On or Off the Instrument

Observe the basic safety instructions at the beginning of this manual, especially the
instructions on electrical safety.
5.1
Switching On the Instrument
Risk of instrument damage
Before switching on the instrument, make sure that the following conditions are met:

The instrument is set up as described in
Chapter 2.2, "Putting Up the Instrument"
●
Signal levels at the input connectors are all within the specified ranges.
●
Signal outputs are correctly connected and are not overloaded.
Failure to meet these conditions can damage the instrument or other devices in the
test setup.
To switch on the R&S
DVMS
1. Make sure to connect the R&S
DVMS to a power supply (for details see
ter 4.1, "Connecting to the AC Power Supply"
2. Press the AC power switch on the rear panel into [I] position.
The LED under [POWER] changes to blue.
The R&S
DVMS starts booting. After booting is completed, the R&S
DVMS is ready
for operation.
The LED under [INSTRUMENT READY] changes to yellow and then to green.
The configuration settings that were active before the R&S
DVMS was last
switched off are automatically restored.
Switching On the Instrument
