Chapter 6: Replacements 

ABL77 Service Manual 

Touch Screen Cable 

 

Touch screen 
cable 

Follow these steps to replace the touch screen cable. 

 

Step Action 

1.  

Remove the electronics module. One end of the touch screen cable 
will be disconnected when the upper module is removed. 

2.  

Disconnect the interface board from the CPU board. It is not necessary 
to disconnect the interface board cables. 

3.  

Disconnect the old touch screen cable from the front of the touch 
screen controller board. 

4.  

Clean the old RTV adhesive from the header on the touch screen 
controller board. 

5.  

Connect the new touch screen cable (item 

1

 in figure 6-25) to the 

16-pin header on the front of the touch screen controller board. 
Position the connector in the bottom row on the far right side so that 
pin 1 (different color strip) is to the right.

Place RTV adhesive on the ends/edges of the connections between the 
touch screen controller board and the touch screen cable. 

NOTE: 

Do not get RTV adhesive on the pins. 

7.  

Re-assemble the analyzer starting with the electronics module.
