Additional Command Set Details
4.2.3.1.1 Clock Free Bit Rate
–
BR
The Clock Free Bit Rate is the bit rate used when the Clock Free (CF) option is specified and internal transmitter
clock is in use. The BR command reports the bit rate. It also allows the user to set the hard bit rate on a clock free
transmitter, or set the clock free bit rate to Automatic.
When set to Automatic, the internal transmitter logic determines the correct bit rate from the input data stream. For
Automatic to work, the input data stream must be sufficiently randomized. The bit rate must be below 35 Mbps to
use automatic bit rate detection.
Do not confuse the BR command with “IC”, which sets the rate of the internally generated clock.
Syntax: BR [A / rate]
where A is:
Automatic
where rate is:
A bit rate in Mbps that matches the input data rate
Examples:
BR
Report the bit rate
BR 5
Set the bit rate to 5 Mbps
BR A
Set the bit rate automatically
4.2.3.1.2 Clock Generator Source Select Command
–
CG
The CG command allows the user to pick any of the listed items for the clock generator output source. This
command requires the -CG (clock generator) option. CG 0 is the default to match legacy units.
Syntax: CG [src / ?]
where src is:
0 Clock Gen output Off
1 DG0 Internal clock always
2 DG1 Internal clock always
3 DG2 Internal clock always
4 DG3 Internal clock always
5 Ext Clock input always
6 Ext Data input always
7 Ch1 Clock free clock
8 Ch2 Clock free clock <When independent modes have been implemented by Quasonix>
