Installing a Replacement Solid State Drive Backplane
To install the replacement backplane in the DXi6900-S Node:
1. Use the hooks at the base of the chassis as guides to align the drive backplane (see
Figure 86 on the previous page
).
2. Slide down the drive backplane until the release tabs snap into place.
3. Connect the SAS data, signal, and power cables to the backplane.
4. Replace the cooling fan assembly (see
Removing and Installing the Cooling Fan Assembly on
).
5. Install the drives in their original locations (see
Replacing a Node Solid State Drive on page 73
).
Caution:
You
must
install each drive in its original location. If the drive locations are not correct, the
system will not function.

8. Run
Factory Detect Hardware
from the
Service Menu
to detect the new hardware (see
).
9. In the remote management console, delete any administrative alerts and close any service tickets.
