6.3.1  User provided cables

To connect to the customer network, the customer must provide networking cables that are compatible 

with the SFP+ transceivers that are installed in the rear of each System Node. The transceivers require a 

multimode, duplex, fiber optic cable (50/125) with an LC connector at the appliance end of the cable. The 

fiber type of the cable will depend on the length of cable required. Use the following table for reference. 

6.3.1.1 Installing SFP+ transceivers

The system has six SFP+ transceivers that are used to connect the system to the customer network. Follow 

these steps to install them.

1. Locate the SFP+ ports on the back of each System Node.

2. Install one SFP+ transceiver in each port shown in the preceding image.

a. Open the latch on the SFP+ transceiver being installed.
b. Connect the user provided cable with the LC connector into the transceiver and close the latch to 

lock it in place.

c. Insert the SFP+ transceiver into the SFP+ port at the back of the System Node.
d. Follow these steps for each transceiver. Insert two transceivers per System Node.
