ActiveScale™ OS X100 Rackless Installation Guide

203

Important:

If you are installing System Expansion Nodes in multiple racks,

install all of the kits in a single rack before moving on to the next rack.

14.6 Installing the System Expansion Node PDU kit

Important:

To determine if you need to install a third PDU, refer to

Installing

System Expansion Node kits

 on page 195.

To install a third PDU into an ActiveScale X100 system:

1. From the rear of the rack, feed the plug through the opening in the top of the rack. Ensure the plug is

draped over the rack in a safe location and will not fall back through the hole.

Note:

The PDU cables may also go through the bottom of the rack if the power

source is below the rack.

2. Line up the PDU over the mounting holes.
3. Place the mounting pegs over the rack PDU mounting points and pull down.

Figure 14

-

6. Installing a three-phase PDU

4. Secure the PDUs to the rack.

14.6.1 Re-balancing the PDUs

Important:

This section assumes that the power running into the PDUs is

properly balanced in your data center's power grid, and can balance the load over

the PDUs in case of PDU failure.

The tables in this section describe how components should be plugged into the PDUs after installing

System Expansion Node kits.
