Entering Characters Without a Keyboard
One of the cool features of the SideKar is the ability operate
without a keyboard. You can enter text by using the paddles to
generate characters.
We call this “
KEY-boarding
” (because
y
ou’re
KEY
ing in characters).
The paddle-created characters will appear on the SideKar
screen and you can see what you are entering, as if you were
using a keyboard.
You can Key-board to:
Enter data in the log
Create messages
Create rig macros
Enter the call of the station you are working
Enter and edit references such as SOTA Summits.
To handle some typical keyboard functions which are not found
in CW, the SideKar provides some options that can be used
without a keyboard:
