Connecting the Printer
Connecting to
a Macintosh
print font samples, and manage hard disks. Many of the procedures
described in this manual involve using PS Exec. The README file on
the PS Executive disk explains how to install the program, and the
on-line help explains how to use it.
Connecting to a Macintosh

Turn the power off on both the printer and the Macintosh.

If you purchased your printer with an Ethernet port installed
and your Macintosh has an Ethernet port, see “Connecting
to a Network” on page 2 and your Macintosh documentation
for information on connecting it to the printer’s Ethernet
port.

Turn on both the printer and the Macintosh.

Note:
Remember, the power switches are located at the rear and
the front of the printer. See the Quick Setup Guide for details.

interface available for this
printer may be installed. (A
SCSI port is also shown.)
If your Macintosh doesn’t
have an Ethernet port, you
need to order the optional
LocalTalk interface card for
this printer. Chapter 2,
“Printer Options,” of the
reference guide has
information on installing
the interface card in the
printer and connecting the
printer to a Macintosh.
