OpenFabrics RPMs
OpenFabrics and OpenSM are optional components. For ease of installation, it is
recommended that the OpenFabrics RPMs listed below are installed on all nodes.
The exception is the
opensm
package, which should only be installed on the node
which will be used as a subnet manager.

user MAD modules in the kernel. These are used by the IB

“verbs” as described in the InfiniBand Architecture Specification.
This includes dierct hardware access for fast path operations.
