Run Signatures
The audit trail is stored in the Rotor-Gene Q run file. To avoid any unwanted modification of these
files, they should be kept in a safe location accessible only by designated Windows accounts.
However, if files are stored in a shared area, Run Signatures provide extra security. The screenshot
shows the
Security
tab in Run Settings for a file with a Run Signature.
The Run Signature is a long word that is generated each time the file is saved and linked to the
contents of the file. For example, the signature for this file is
517587770f3e2172ef9cc9bd0c36c081
. If the file is opened in Notepad and an edit is made (e.g.,
the run date is changed to 3 days earlier), the following message appears when the file is reopened.
