OPERATION OF FEATURES
1. LED Enable / Disable (Switch A)
ON = LED Enable (Override the E- control)
OFF = LED Disable (E- controls the LEDs)
ON:
The detector operates in AM dual mode
OFF:
The detector operates in
AM PIR mode only and is intended for
use with a curtain or long range lens only.
In AM PIR mode, a triggering of the PIR causes the alarm relay to open
and the alarm LED to turn on. The PIR and Microwave LEDs are disabled.
Mask processing will work the same in both modes, i.e. the microwave signal
will be used to reset mask processing or a latched mask event
2. Operational Mode (Switch B)
OR
= If either single technology detects prolonged intruder activity
5. And /Or (Switch E)
AND
= Conventional dual tech, both technologies need to be
triggered simultaneously to generate an alarm.
an alarm will be generated independently.
Immunity testing carried out in AND mode.
7. Relay mode (Switch G)
ON
= Relay is in normally closed mode. (N/C)
OFF
= Relay is in normally open mode. (N/O)
8. 50/60 Hz (Switch H)
Factory set.
K
udos AM
3 in 1
The KUDOS AM incorporates a unique anti-masking feature which will
prevent the alarm panel from being set if an attempt to block the PIR or
Microwave coverage pattern is detected. When something moves in close
proximity to the detector an anti-mask processing sequence will be
activated. This is indicated by the Red LED which will flash at half second
intervals. Processing will normally take 60 seconds to complete and during
this time the detector mask relay output will remain closed. If the detector
verifies that an attempt to block its coverage has been made then the
appropriate relay(s) will open (according to the alarm relay mode switch).
The relay(s) will remain open until the block has been removed. In addition
the Green and Orange LEDs will turn on regardless of whether LED disable
has been selected. To reset the detector to normal operating mode, remove
the blocking material, while the RED alarm LED is flashing the detector should
be walk tested to activate both technologies. After 60 seconds the RED alarm
LED should stop flashing. When the RED Alarm LED is no longer flashing the
detector should be walk tested again to activate both technologies. Under
certain conditions it may be possible for anti-masking system not to recognise
masking of one technology only. See Options

NB. The above description assumes the relay mode switch G is set to
Normally Closed.
Mask sensitivity adjustment is provided by a potentiometer on the PCB.
Maximum sensitivity is achieved when the pot is turned fully clockwise.
To disable the anti-masking feature the pot should be turned fully counter
3. Mask (Switch C)
ON
= Only mask relay opens and stays open upon mask processing
concluding a genuine mask situation has occurred.
OFF
= Mask and alarm relays open and stay open upon mask processing
concluding a genuine mask situation has occurred.

6. Mask Security Mode (Switch F)
ON

Single Technology Masking can be prevented by using the Normal/High Anti
Mask Security Mode function. Switch F to OFF (Anti-Block)
When this mode is selected the RT input must be connected to a control
panel programmable (PGM) output.
When the panel is disarmed this input must be at 0V. When the panel is
armed the input must switch to 12V.
If an attempt to mask the detector is made during a disarmed state, then the
alarm relay will be held open until the detector masking is removed.
This fault is displayed as shown in diagram H7.
