In order to guarantee the
quality of the produced wa-
ter,  the unit needs regular
maintenance. The unit must
be sanitized regularly depen-
ding on the use and the water
comsumption .

CAUTION: Some components
of this unit, such as pre filter
and the RO Membrane are
consumables and have a li-
mited duration.

STARTING A WATER TREATMENT CYCLE

The time required to treat one cycle will vary, depending on the
quality of inlet water, and condition of the filters. If the filters are
new, the filtering process will finish before the control dial returns to
the 0 position. The filtering process will stop, and the dial will flash
orange till the timer reaches the 0 position. This is normal, it is not
indicating a problem. After a few cycles, you will see that with new
filters, the dial does not need to be turned all the way to the “1”
position to complete a full cycle, a shorter cycle will suffice. The dial
can be set anywhere in the grey area shown in the diagram above.

Gradually, as the membrane and filters become used, it will become
necessary to set a longer time to complete a full cycle and the
dial will need to be set closer to the 1 position to finish a complete
cycle. If, after setting the timer all the way to the 1 position, the
dial reaches the 0 position before completing a full cycle (2 litres
of water to the pure water reservoir) this shows that the filters are
reaching their operating limits and should be replaced.

6.MAINTENANCE AND CONSUMABLES

It’s very important to ensure that your system is kept clean, sanitary
and that the filters are regularly replaced using orginal ZIP filters, by
authorised dealers only.

Any kind of manipulation made to the system or any use of non
original replacements will cancel the guarantee.

Replacement filters lifetime will vary depending on system usage, wa-
ter consumption, feed water quality and on specific aspects like extre-
mely high turbidity, hyper-chlorinations, iron concentration and so on.
High concentrations of some water components (free chlorine, turbidi-
ty, hardness etc.) may reduce cartridge lifettime.
The replacement times of the cartridges and membranes are merely
indicative and should be taken as a guide. We recommend tha the
time frames for filter change should not exceed those indicated bellow.
Your ZIP systems distributor will provide you with replacement times
according to your feed water quality and estimated consumption.
