7.4 Single-phase connection
There are two types of single-phase motors
•
With permanently connected external capacitor
•
With a two-wire motor (without capacitor)
The connection must be made strictly according to the wiring diagram available on the motor itself.
The capacitors and their voltage values must correspond to those on the motor.
An incorrect capacitor value (higher or lower than rated) can affect the starting
and running parameters of motors with irreparable effects on their lifetime.
In case of use of a capacitor with a value different from the nominal value, the
warranty is void.
7.5 Insulation resistance measurement
Make this measurement before start-up and during the start-up of the assembled units to
the place of use.
The
motor is OK if its insulation resistance at 20 °C is at least the following:
Minimum insulation resistance with extension cable:
•
for a new motor > 4 MΩ
•
for a used motor > 1 MΩ
Minimum insulation resistance without extension cable:
•
for a new motor > 400 MΩ
•
for
used
motor>
20 MΩ
