2 Introduction
Please read this manual carefully before using the motor.
It is important to become familiar with all relevant safety regulations before operating.
Failure to do so could result in personal injury and damage to the machine and will also void the
warranty.
This product may be used by persons over 18 years of age and familiar with the operation.
Warning
!
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized dealer or a qualified
person.
3 Safety
The 4" submersible motor may only be operated in compliance with these safety
regulations:
•
Operate the motor only underwater.
•
Consider the limits of the motor and system implementation.
•
Check the electrical system and fusing before switching on.
•
Protect areas of electrical and mechanical hazards from access.
•
Vent the riser pipe before start-up to prevent water surges during start up.
•
The maximum water temperature is +35 °C.
•
When operating the generator, always lighten the generator first, i.e.
1. Start: generator first, then motor
2. Shutdown: motor first, then generator.
•
After switching on the power supply, check the system:
1. operating current of each phase of the motor,
2. the mains voltage with the engine running,
3. the level of the medium to be pumped.
•
Switch off the motor immediately, in case of:
1. the current specified on the nameplate is exceeded
2. measured deviations of the motor voltage from the nominal voltage of more than +6/-10 %,
3. dry running is imminent.
3.1 Summary of important warnings
•
Voltage and frequency must match the pump nameplate
•
For motors on three-phase connections and for use with an external start capacitor, make sure the
motor is spinning in the correct direction.
•
Only a person qualified as an electrician according to decree may work on the electrical equipment,
including the connection to the mains.
•
It is forbidden to use this equipment to work with flammable or harmful liquids
•
All screw connections must be properly tightened and secured against loosening.
•
The unit must be positioned stably to prevent it from falling.
•
In the event of any unexpected event that leads to the mains being disconnected by the circuit
breakers, you must disconnect the pump from the power supply (broken cable insulation etc.) and
find the cause of this condition. It is not recommended to switch the circuit breakers back on without
finding the cause and fixing it.
