A. Reason for Reissue
This practice has been reissued to update Table 1.
B. Description
The O3-4D1L3 U2 multiplexes/demultiplexes four DS1 signals from an OC3 optical
signal. By using standard, non-proprietary, virtual tributary VT1.5 and synchronous
transport signal STS-1 mapping, the O3-4D1L3 U2 provides fiber-to-fiber compatibility
with synchronous optical network (SONET) multiplexers as well as far-end O3-4D1
Series units.
O3-4D1L3 U2 units do not include optical transceivers. Ordering codes for the
O3-4D1L3 U2 board as well as for available optical transceivers are shown in Table 1.
NOTE
For the remainder of this document, the O3-4D1L3 U2 will be referred to
as the O3-4D1L3.
