Maxicode
[Default = all modes enabled]. Maxicode is a 2D symbol-
ogy which offers a choice of seven different modes (0
through 6) that are independently selectable when Maxi-
code is enabled (see Figure 27).
Maxicode modes 0 to 6 can be enabled or disabled indi-
vidually. If a mode is disabled, an attempt to capture a
Maxicode symbol of that mode will be ignored (see
Figure 27).
Maxicode Structure Carrier Message Only [Default = dis-
abled]. Maxicode, by design, is comprised of a primary
and a secondary message. For modes 2 and 3 (the most
common modes) the primary message is a strictly for-
matted entity referred to as the Structured Carrier Mes-
sage, or SCM. Enabling Maxicode Structure Carrier
Message Only allows the ability to capture and report
only the primary message (SCM) and discard the second-
ary message.
If this mode is disabled, then the read will only be con-
sidered good if both the SCM (primary) and secondary
message were both found.
