710 Cervical Lateral Flexion
Correct Usage
The cervical lateral flexion muscles are trained by
using this machine. The stabilisation of the torso is
via the lateral stabilisation padding. Following
injuries can be treated
after consultation with a
physician
. Intervertebral disc protrusion, spinal disc
prolapse and degenerative spinal disorders. Of
course, the machine can also be used for a general
strengthening of the torso with unspecified
discomfort and for the prevention of cervical spinal
discomfort.
Note the described contra-indicators for training
on this machine!
Specific positioning of the person training
The rotatable seat of the machine is located above the pressure switch on the underside of the seat in the
upper position and positioned with the knee support padding so that the trainee or patient can sit with the
back of his/her head to the padding. The patient can now get on the seat. The setting of the knee support
padding to the length of the thigh is by using the rotary wheel on the front of the seat.
Seat height is then set such that the rotation axis of the machine coincides with the rotation axis of the
patient.
A possible axis of rotation for the training of the cervical extension movement is situated above C7/Th1.
The correct positioning of the seat height should be checked on the laser pointer, which is located at the
rotation point of the machine.
If the extension and/or flexion movement has already been trained and the trainee or patient and was
already correctly positioned for this movement, it is then only necessary to release the upper torso fixation,
to bring the lever arm to the end position and to turn the rotating seat through 90 °.
Adapt the height of the lateral upper body padding individually so that the trainee or patient can be fixed in
position on the side and may not move out of the correct plane of rotation. The analogue side turning
wheels can be used for each separate setting of the lateral fixation pads and must be correctly adjusted on
both sides in this case.
The lever arm length can be continuously adapted after releasing the locking pin.
The starting position for the lateral movement on both sides can be set in 7.5° steps by pulling the locking
pin on the excenter.
The weight load can be continuously adapted to the weight stack with the adjustment wheel.
