User qualification: trained and qualified personnel / elec‐
trical technician
Chapter 2.2 ‘User qualification’ on page 13
WARNING!
In areas at risk from explosion: perform all work in the
absence of an explosive atmosphere.
Select a clean place.
Compare the dimensions on the dimensional drawing with those of
the pump.
4.1 Space requirement
Risk of burns with hot feed chemical
People are at risk of burning themselves if hot feed
chemical can heat the liquid ends above the permissible
surface temperatures.
–
Consider attaching a "Hot surface" label to the liquid
end or fit a guard plate.
1.
Position the pump so that control elements, such as the oil inspec‐
tion window, are easily accessible.
2.
Make sure that there is enough space to carry out an oil change or
bearing change (vent screws, post-suction valve, oil trough ...).
3.
Ensure there is sufficient free space (f) around the dosing head as
well as the suction and discharge valve so that maintenance and
repair work can be carried out on these components.

4.2 Alignment of the pump and liquid end
Too much wear
If the pump with the motor is not standing vertically, the
piston seal will quickly wear out.
–
Make sure that the pump is standing vertically.
Dosing rate too low
The valves of the liquid end will not close correctly if the
valves are not upright.
–
Ensure that all liquid end valves are pointing verti‐
cally up.
