Special safety instructions
The engine uses unleaded fuel. You should
therefore never put leaded petrol, diesel,
paraffin or other fuels in the tank.
Store petrol out of the reach of children and
in a clearly marked, approved container.
Wipe up any spilt petrol with a dry cloth after
filling with fuel.
Smoking and the use of naked flames during
fuelling are strictly forbidden.
Never fill up with petrol or engine oil when
the engine is running.
Do not overfill with petrol or oil, as this may
cause a fire hazard.
Store flammable materials at a safe distance
from the engine, as the exhaust gases are
very hot and may ignite such materials.
Never use indoors. The exhaust gases contain
carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons that are
hazardous to humans and animals if inhaled.
Never start the engine without the air filter
in place.
Do not attempt to modify the engine to
make it achieve a higher speed, as this could
cause damage to the engine and personal
injury.
Never touch engine components during or
immediately after use. They may be very hot.
Keep hands and feet well clear of moving
and rotating parts.
Do not use on steep slopes where the
machine may tip over or run out of control.
Make sure that the vibrations cannot cause a
landslip, which may pose a danger to others.
Do not run the plate compactor over
electrical cables, telephone wires or other
installations that may be damaged by the
vibrations.
Always follow all maintenance instructions
under “Cleaning and Maintenance”.
Check that the switch is in the OFF position
and that the spark plug lead is disconnected
before adjusting, cleaning or performing
maintenance on the machine.
Always switch the engine off when leaving
the plate compactor unattended.
Never stand on the plate compactor. Always
stand behind the plate compactor during
use.
Wear sturdy work gloves to reduce vibrations
in your hands. The plate compactor is also
fitted with heavy-duty shock absorbers to
reduce vibrations in the handle.
