Fault Paper Out . When FAULT PAPER OUT mode is
selected, and the ribbon life reaches 5%, the printer continues
to accept new print jobs until the printer runs out of paper.
When an END OF FORMS/LOAD FORMS condition is cleared
(paper is loaded), then the RIBBON INK LOW /CHANGE
RIBBON message appears and the printer status indicator
flashes. The printer will not accept new print jobs until the
ribbon is changed and the RibbonMinder is reset to 100%. In
this mode, the RibbonMinder is automatically reset when a
“Clean Hands” ribbon is installed and NEW RIBBON DETECT
is enabled. Even if NEW RIBBON DETECT is enabled, if
another type of ribbon is used, the User must reset the
RibbonMinder using the NEW RIBBON menu selection. The
RibbonMinder counter display is then reset to 100%.
Ribbon Type
The factory default setting is dependent on the host printer.
Printronix Gold Series 90 corresponds to the Cabinet version,
Printronix Gold Series 50 for the Pedestal and Printronix Gold
Series 2000 for the P5224. The relative length equivalents for each
of the ribbon settings are:
