Checking the Equipment and Parts Inventory
Confirm that you have all of the equipment and parts required to set up the PhotonMAX
system. A complete system consists of:
•
Camera
•
Power Supply (or a CoolCUBE coolant circulator for liquid-cooled versions)
•
Host Computer: Can be purchased from Princeton Instruments or provided by user.
•
Computer Interface Components:
•
Data cable: 15 ft (5 meter) cable (6050-0545) is standard.
•
Proprietary PCI Card
•
I/O cable: (Optional) 2 ft ( .6 meter) cable (6050-0546) with DB26 connector at
one end and five (5) BNCs at the other end.

Storage temperature:

Operating environment temperature: 5ºC to +30ºC; the environment temperature range
over which system specifications can be guaranteed is +18ºC to +23ºC
Relative humidity

50%; non-condensing
Note:
For TE-cooled cameras, the cooling performance may degrade if the room
temperature is above +23°C.
Ventilation
Camera:
Allow at least two (2) inches (50 mm) clearance around the vented covers. The
air needs to be less than 25ºC (above this temperature the CCD temperature can
begin to degrade). Where the camera is inside an enclosure, the enclosure needs
to have unrestricted flow to an open environment. The camera vents its heat out
the vents near the nose. The air intake is near the rear of the camera.
Power
Camera:
The PhotonMAX camera receives its power from the supplied power supply
(or the liquid circulator unit), which in turn plugs into a source of AC power.
Power Supply:
The receptacle on the power supply should be compatible with the
line-voltage line cords in common use in the region to which the system is
shipped. If the power supply receptacle is incompatible, a compatible adapter
should be installed on the line cord, taking care to maintain the proper polarity to
protect the equipment and assure user safety. For the liquid-cooled version,
power to the camera is supplied via the CoolCUBE circulator unit.
