Section 5 Service Procedures
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, explosion, serious injury or death:
• Disconnect electric power to the tumbler before servicing.
• Close gas shut-off valve to gas tumbler before servicing.
• Close steam valve to steam tumbler before servicing.
• Never start the tumbler with any guards/panels removed.
• Whenever ground wires are removed during servicing, these ground wires must be
reconnected to ensure that the tumbler is properly grounded.

29. COOL DOWN AND HEAT TIMERS
(Manual Timer Models)
a. Pull timer knob off timer shaft. Refer to
Figure 3.
b. Remove four screws from top and bottom
surfaces of exterior control box cover and
remove cover, disconnecting control box cover
harness or load ready light wires.
c. Remove screw from left and right sides of
control bracket securing control plate. Refer to
Figure 3.
d. Pivot plate forward to horizontal.
e. Remove wires from timer terminals.
f. Remove three screws holding timer to control
plate.
NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram when rewiring
timer.
30. RELAY
a. Remove four screws from top and bottom
surfaces of exterior control box cover and
remove cover, disconnecting control box cover
harness or load ready light wires.
b. Remove screw from left and right sides of
control bracket securing control plate. Refer to
Figure 3.
c. Pivot plate forward to horizontal.
d. Disconnect wires from relay terminals and
remove screws securing relay to control
mounting bracket.
NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram when rewiring
relay.
31. REVERSING/NONREVERSING SWITCH
(Manual Timer Models)
a. Remove four screws from top and bottom
surfaces of exterior control box cover and
remove cover, disconnecting control box cover
harness or load ready light wires.
b. Remove screw from left and right sides of
control bracket securing control plate. Refer to
Figure 3.
c. Pivot plate forward to horizontal.
d. Remove wires from switch terminals and
remove switch by depressing locking tabs.
NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram when rewiring
switch.
32. TEMPERATURE SWITCH
(Manual Timer Models)
a. Remove four screws from top and bottom
surfaces of exterior control box cover and
remove cover, disconnecting control box cover
harness or load ready light wires.
b. Remove screw from left and right sides of
control bracket securing control plate. Refer to
Figure 3.
c. Pivot plate forward to horizontal.
d. Remove wires from temperature switch
terminals and two nuts securing temperature
switch bracket to control plate.
e. Remove temperature switch knob from
temperature switch shaft.
f. Remove nut securing temperature switch to
temperature switch bracket and pull switch out.
NOTE: Refer to wiring diagram when rewiring
switch.
