4 Adjusting the Condenser Settings
4.1 Overview
This chapter describes how to adjust properties of the condenser, such as its
position, maximum height, and how to set the optimum contrast. Only the
following microscopes have a condenser:

4.2 Specifying the Condenser Position
The condenser is located beneath the stage. It concentrates the light from the light
source into a cone that illuminates the specimen with uniform intensity over the
entire field of view.
Procedure
1
To raise or lower the condenser, turn the condenser vertical adjustment knob.

Raise the condenser carefully and ensure that it does not collide with the
bottom of the sample.
