1.3 Component Names and Functions
This section explains the component names and functions of the server blade.
1.3.1 Front View of Server Blade
a Hard disk status display LED ( )
Indicates the state of the internal hard disk unit installed at the location of the LED. The
following shows the meanings of each LED.
• Hard disk access display LED ( )
This LED lights green when data is being written to or read from the hard disk.
• Hard disk failure LED ( )
During array system configuration, this LED is lit amber when an error is detected in the
internal hard disk unit.
It is lit or blinks depending on the hard disk status as follows.
b Display / USB extension connector
Display device or USB-connected peripheral devices are connected through USB cable.
c LAN active link display LED ( )
It is lit or blinks depending on the LAN status as follows.

LED status Description
Off Normal mode
Lights amber Error detected in the hard disk (in an array configuration)
Blinks amber During initialization or rebuilding

LED status Description
Lights green One of two LAN ports is establishing a link.
Blinks green Data is currently transferred or received through a LAN.
