Release 5.0
2.
At the Linux prompt, create a backup copy of the
/etc/hosts
file.
3.
Edit the
/etc/hosts
file and insert the new names for the
cBlades after the IP address and before
cb1
and
cb2
.
For example:
172.28.2.30
new_cBlade1_name
cb1 control-blade-A
172.28.2.31
new_cBlade2_name
cb2 control-blade-B
where:
new_cBlade1_name
is the name being added for cBlade 1.
new_cBlade2_name
is the name being added for cBlade 2.
Note:
When you name cBlades, it is helpful to retain an
indication of the cBlade number, as in
cb1
new_cBlade1_name
and
cb2
new_cBlade2_name
.
4.
Save the
/etc/hosts
file.
5.
At the Linux prompt, create a new file:
#
cp /etc/sysconfig/network /etc/sysconfig/ifc/
network.ifca
6.
Change directories, and then create a network file for each
cBlade:
#
cd /etc/sysconfig/ifc
#
cp network.ifca network.ifcb
7.
Edit the
network.ifca
file to change the host name for
cBlade 1:
HOSTNAME=
new_cBlade1_name
8.
Save the
network.ifca
file.
9.
Edit the
network.ifcb
file to change the host name for
cBlade 2:
HOSTNAME=
new_cBlade2_name
10.
Save the
network.ifcb
file.
11.
Connect your console to Control Blade 2.
12.
Repeat Step 2 through Step 10 on Control Blade 2.
