The Tx1 remote transmit head has a plated, unpainted surface on one side of the unit with a ¼-20 UNC
thread for easy mounting to a tripod or other surface. There are also mount points on each corner to allow
mounting using heavy duty 5mm tie-wraps. The dust caps for the RF (SMA) and optical connectors
should remain fitted whilst the unit is not connected to any cabling.

3.4.1.1

Tx1 battery pack:

The Tx1 battery pack is a custom designed battery based on Li-ion technology. The battery has been
verified to UN38.3 but care must still be taken to correctly store and transport them; their orange transport
cover should be retained for future use.

The battery cells

are an integral part of the remote head’s design so repair should only be carried out by

PPM.

Whilst storage of the battery is permissible up to +50°C it is not recommended. Prolonged storage at high
temperatures will dramatically shorten battery life. For maximum lifespan it is recommended that the
battery is stored at a n20°C (±10°C) with a 40-50% charge.

The Tx1 battery has a capacity of ~22Wh and complies with the UN38.3 recommendations on the
transport of dangerous goods (see appendix).

3.4.2

Tx8

The Tx8 remote transmit head supports a single optical channel and allows up to eight RF inputs to be
connected to the SMA input connectors.

The rubber corner bumpers and front panel surround minimise transmission of physical shock to the
sensitive internal electronics and should not be removed. The dust caps for the RF (SMA) and optical
connectors should remain fitted whilst the unit is not connected to any cabling.
