3.4 Remote transmit heads

Two variants of the remote transmitter are supported by the Sentinel 3 system. The single input head
provides the smallest form factor of the two whilst the eight input head allows additional sequentially
selectable inputs.

The single input remote transmit head is powered by a 22Wh battery and the eight input head is powered
by a 44Wh battery. Whilst they are both Li-ion rechargeable batteries providing the same voltage, the Tx1
and Tx8 batteries are not physically interchangeable.

For safety reasons, battery temperatures should be maintained within the following limits:

Tx1

The Tx1 remote transmit head supports a single optical channel and allows a single RF input to be
connected to the SMA input connector.

The rubber corner bumpers and front panel surround minimise transmission of physical shock to the
sensitive internal electronics and should not be removed.
