6 ADDITIONAL SAFETY-HINTS FOR SANDERS
▪
Always wear safety-goggles and a dust-mask during your work with the finishing-sander.
▪
Always secure the work piece by clamps or else to avoid slipping away.
▪
Always keep the holes in the base plate clean from dust.
▪
Always connect a vacuum cleaner to the attached adaptor during your work.
▪
Take special care when sanding lead based paint:
−
All persons entering the work area must wear a mask specially designed for protection
against lead paint dust and fumes.
−
Children and pregnant women must not enter the work area.
−
Do not eat, drink or smoke in the work area.
−
Do not leave the tool running. Operate the tool only when hand-held.
▪
Ventilate your work area adequately when you perform sanding operations.
▪
Be sure that there are no cracks or breakage on the pad before use. Cracks or breakage
may cause a personal injury.
7 OPERATION
Do not sand plaster surfaces, (WARNING: In this case your guarantee
becomes void) this may clog the motor (brushes, ball bearings,…).
7.1
Auxiliary handle (Fig. 1)

This tool has an auxiliary handle (6) on the front which should be used only with both
hands. The auxiliary handle makes possible comfortable handling and optimum force
application, especially for high material removal.
▪
Turn and loosen the adjustment knob (7) with clockwise direction.
▪
Place the auxiliary handle in the desired position and tighten the adjustment knob firmly.
7.2
Switch action (Fig. 2)
Connect the plug to the power supply, the power-on indicator is illumed until the tool
disconnect from the power mains.
Switch the power tool on: push the ON/OFF switch button
(2) forwards into the “I” position.
Switch the power
tool off: push the ON/OFF switch button backwards to the “O” position.
7.3
Speed adjusting dial (Fig. 3)

This tool has a speed control dial (1) at the front.
▪
The speed can be adjusted between 6000 rpm and 13000 rpm.
▪
Higher speed is obtained when the speed control dial is turned into the MAX direction.
7.4
Attaching the sandpaper (Fig. 4)
▪
To attach sanding paper, first remove all dirt or foreign matter from the sanding base plate.
▪
Then attach the sanding paper to the sanding base plate, using the hook-and-loop system
of the sanding paper and the sanding base plate.
▪
Make sure the perforations in the paper coincide with those on the sanding base plate, to
ensure optimal dust collection.
▪
The sandpaper should rest flush on the base plate and must not come loose.
▪
Select sandpaper with the correct grain size.
