ADJUSTING THE STROKE LENGTH
1.
Remove the outer cylinder (B) using the box
end of the wrench (#54).
2. Confirm the piston stroke is set to 70 mm length.
The wrench gauge’s shaft (#53) is designed for
this measurement. The piston fits into the front
notch. The wrench’s butt will touch the threads
for the outer cylinder if the piston is properly
adjusted. (Fig. 6). Otherwise adjust the piston.
3.
Slide the small wrench’s (#53) open end onto
the flats of the socket (#2).
4.
Slide the large wrench’s (#54) open end onto the
clamp nut (#4).
5.
Hold the socket in place while loosening the
nut. Spin the nut backwards a bit (Fig. 7).
6.
Rotate the piston forward or backwards until it is
the correct distance as measured with the
wrench.
7.
Hold the socket in place again and tighten the
clamp nut.
8. Fit the outer cylinder back onto the air riveter
and tighten.
CLEANING AND CHANGING THE JAWS
1.
Remove the outer cylinder (B) with the large
wrench’s (#54) box end.
2.
Slide the small wrench’s (#53) open end onto the
flats of the jaw case (#3).
3.
Slide the large wrench’s (#54) open end onto the
clamp nut’s (#4) flats.
4.
Hold the jaw case joint still while unscrewing the
jaw case (Fig. 8).
5.
Remove the jaws (#5) carefully to prevent the
spring from ejecting one or more jaws.
6. Clean the jaws with mild solvent and a brush.
Dry and inspect for damage. Replace the jaws if
they are blunt.
