MAINTENANCE
Tyres
Danger!
Damaged tyres could unexpectedly lose air pressure
during operation
Stability is therefore endangered particularly when
travelling on slopes
- Regularly check tyres for damage and air pressure
- Repairs to tyres should only be carried out by
professionals equipped with suitable tools
When air pressure is too great then the danger of a
tyre bursting exists
- Do not stand too close to the tyre when pumping it
up
- Only used compressed air to pump up the tyre
- Be aware of the maximum permissible air pressure
Permitted air pressure - see chapter “Technical
information”
Working on the hydraulic unit
• Before working on the hydraulic unit
- Lower raised rotary units to the ground
- Depressurise hydraulic unit completely
- Checking for leaks is hazardous. Use suitable aids
to check for leaks. Beware of personal injury.
- Repairs to hydraulic units must be carried out only
at PÖTTINGER specialist workshops
Protective fittings!
Warning!
Protective fittings guard against dangerous positions
on the machine
- Only unfasten protective fittings when drive and motor
are switched off
- Switch
motor
off!
- Remove the main switch key (ignition key).
- After any maintenance or repair work ensure protective
fittings are fitted properly again.
Greasing
Warning!
Take care when draining hot oil - Danger
of scorching!
- Keep to the given oil change intervals
- Carry out regular greasing according to the lubrication
chart
- Only use brand-name greases and oils to grease the
machine
Remove grime from grease nipples before greasing
The given greasing periods apply to normal operating
conditions. If the machine is operating under heavier
conditions then more frequent greasing is necessary
Working on the Cardan shaft
Working on the cardan shaft should always be carried out
with the drive and motor switched off
- Switch
motor
off!
- Remove
ignition
key
The cardan shaft should be maintained according to
it’s manufacturer’s instructions. See the manufacturer’s
instruction manual.
Observe the manufacturer’s safety regulations!
General information about Cardan shafts
Danger!
Never operate cardan shafts without or with damaged
safeguards – Danger of injury!
- Fix shaft guard and protector cap
- Secure safeguard against simultaneous turning
- Only use technically faultless shafts
- Only CE tested shafts may be used.
Immediately replace defective or missing safety caps,
safety cones and security chains
Protect shafts against weather effects
After the working season thoroughly clean all parts of the
shaft and grease
For winter working, grease the tube guards, to avoid them
freezing together.
After any long storage period, the shaft must be cleaned,
greased and checked for operating ability before being
returned to operation.
Bolt connections
After every 10 operating hours all bolts and nuts on the
machine should be checked and retightened. Check
regularly!
