Driving with the machine attached
The driving characteristics of a towing vehicle are influenced
by a coupled machine.
• Tipping hazard when working on slopes.
• Driving style must be adapted to the specific terrain
and ground conditions.
• The towing vehicle is to
be sufficiently equipped
with ballast weights in
order to guarantee the
steering and braking
capacity (a minimum
of 20% of the vehicle’s
tare weight on the front
axle).
• It is not permitted to
carry persons on the machine.
Coupling / uncoupling the machine
• Danger of injury exists when coupling machines to
the tractor!
• When coupling, do not step between machine and
tractor when the tractor is moving backwards.
• No-one is permitted to remain between the tractor
and the machine unless the vehicles are secured
against rolling with wheel chocks!
• Attach and detach drive shaft only when motor has
stopped.
Designated use
Designated use: see chapter "Technical Data".
• Do not exceed the performance limits (permissible
axle load, bearing load, total weight) of the trailer.
The relevant details are on the right-hand side of
the frame.
• In addition, observe the power range limits of the
tractor in use.
Road travel
• Observe the statutory regulations for your country.
Before starting work
a. Before commencing work, the operator must be familiar
with all of the operating devices and functions. It is too
late to do this during operation!
b. Before each start-up, check the machine for
roadworthiness and operational safety.
c. Direct all persons out of the danger area before activating
the hydraulic devices and turning on the drive.
d. Before driving the vehicle, the driver must ensure that
nobody will be endangered and that no obstructions are
present. If the driver cannot see and overlook the area
directly behind the machine, he/she must be guided
when reversing.
e. Observe the safety instructions attached to the machine.
An explanation of what the individual graphic warning
pictograms mean can be found on page 5 of these
operating instructions.
f. Observe also the tips in the respective chapters and in
the supplement to these operating instructions.
Checking before operation
The following instructions are intended to make it easier for
you to put the machine into operation. Detailed information
for individual points can be found in the respective chapters
in these operating instructions.
1. Check that all safety devices (covers, panels, etc.) are
in proper condition and in their respective protection
positions on the machine.
2. Grease the machine according to the lubrication chart.
Check the gearbox oil level and for any leaks.
3. Check that tyres have the correct air pressure.
4. Check that wheel nuts are tight.
5. Ensure that the PTO speed is correct.
6. Make the electrical connections to the tractor and that
they are connected properly. Take note of the tips in the
operating instructions!
7. Carry out adaptation to the tractor:
• Drawbar height
• Cardan shaft length
8. Only fasten the machine with the equipment provided.
9. Check that the cardan shaft and overload protection
function (see appendix).
10. Check that the electronic system functions.
11. Connect hydraulic lines to tractor.
• Check hydraulic hoses for damage and aging.
• Ensure the correct connection.
12. All swivelling components must be secured against
dangerous changes in position.
13. Check parking brake and service brake functions.
