Depending on the outside temperature, the heated
rear screen/door mirror heating switches off auto-
matically after approx. 5 to 20 minutes.

Using engine residual heat – REST
mode

The residual heat of the engine can be used to heat
the interior for up to 20 minutes after the ignition
has been switched off.

air-conditioning settings cannot be changed in
REST mode.

Using precool/heat timer and ve-
hicle interior precooling/heating

Programming and activating the pre-
cool/heat timer
The interior temperature can be precooled/heated
up to a selected time using the precool/heat timer,
regardless of whether or not the vehicle plug is
inserted.
Each precool/heat timer can be set to start once
(single timer) or at regular intervals (recurring
timer).

2. Select Precool/heat timer .
3. Set the days or date and time of the desired
departure time and enable the timer entry .
The air flow, air distribution and temperature
are regulated automatically, irrespective of
what the settings were when the vehicle was
last parked.
The selected climate type is maintained for up
to 10 minutes after the programmed time.
The air flow, air distribution and temperature
can be individually adjusted after the ignition
is switched on.
Deactivating the precool/heat timer

2. Select Precool/heat timer .
3. Disable the option .
Switching on vehicle interior preheat-
ing/cooling
The vehicle interior precooling/heating system can
be used to heat or cool the vehicle interior without
the combustion engine running.

2. Select START PRECOOL/HEAT .
The available electric range is reduced when
vehicle interior preheating/cooling is
switched on.
Vehicle interior preheating/cooling switches
off after 30 minutes at the latest when the ve-
hicle is ready for operation and when the ve-
hicle is stationary.
Information
Passenger compartment preheating/cooling
works most effectively if the ignition remains
switched off while it is working.
