e Update the Tire Pressure Monitoring System
settings after changing the wheel.
Performing emergency fastening
of the central bolt
WARNING
Insufficiently tightened
central bolt
Driving with an insufficiently tightened central bolt
can lead to accidents.
e Avoid rapid acceleration and cornering.
e Do not drive faster than 50 mph (80 km/h).
e Emergency fastening must never be used when
driving on racetracks.
If no suitable torque wrench for the high tightening
torque of 442 ftlb. (600 Nm) is available in a break-
down situation, perform emergency fastening of the
central bolt.
– Long lever (approx. 3 ft. (1 m)) with a 1“ adapter.
– Torque wrench for 74 ftlb. (100 Nm) with a
1" adapter.
e Perform the wheel change.
> Please see chapter "Changing wheels with a
central lock" on page 311.
e Ensure that the vehicle is not resting on the
wheel being secured during the fitting process.

1. Tighten the central bolt with great force using a
long lever and loosen it again by a 1/4 turn.

2. Tighten the central bolt to 74 ftlb (100 Nm) us-
ing a suitable torque wrench.

Draw a guide line on the wheel opposite the
marking using a pen.
