3 First Steps

3.5

Functional Test 

The implementation of a first functional test is described in the following. If the 

instrument does not perform as described, contact your local Polytec 

representative. 

For an initial functional test, proceed as follows:
1. Mount the instrument as described in S

ECTION

3.3.

2. Connect up the instrument as described in S

ECTION

3.4.

Switch on 

3. Turn the key switch on the front of the controller to position 

I

.

In doing so, the sensor head is also switched on.

 

 

INFORMATION

The instrument reaches its optimal metrological properties after a warm-up 

period of approx. 180 minutes.

4. Press the mains switch on the back of the industrial PC to position 

I

.

5. Press the 

POWER

 key on the front of the industrial PC.

6. Start the TMS software.
7. Open a measurement window as described in your TMS software manual.

The video camera is working correctly if no error message is shown 

when starting TMS software. The live video image is displayed in the 

measurement window.
If you have locked the transport lock on the sensor head, the TMS 

software shows an error message.
After successful initialization, the measurement light will light up green 

and you will see the video image.

 

 

INFORMATION

The object support should be at least the same height as the default position 

so that the object is positioned within the measurement range.
